Pupil Premium Allocation
In April 2011 the Coalition Government introduced the Pupil premium. This is funding allocated to schools which is additional to main school funding. Fundamentally, this additional funding was designed to narrow the attainment gap between students from disadvantaged families and their peers, where this exists. Schools can choose how to target these additional funds in order to meet the needs of students at risk of under-achieving based on their circumstances.

All schools are required to publish online information about how they have used the Premium and its impact on the attainment of pupils covered by the Premium.

The money is allocated to initiatives in school to ensure that pupils reach their full potential, both academically and socially.
These additional support systems have been monitored and analysed and found to be successful in promoting pupil attainment and progress. ALL children are closely tracked against National expected levels to ensure the highest possible personal progress is made.
If your child does not have Free School Meals, but may be eligible because of your family's income level, please contact the school office and they will help you to register them. Even if you do not wish your child to have the meals, this would mean the school could claim additional Pupil Premium funding.
Universal Free School Meals
As I am sure you are all aware from September 2014 all infant aged children (Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 classes) receive their midday school meal free of charge.
In addition to this the Government are providing additional funding to our school for each pupil that is eligible for the Pupil Premium. To ensure we capture all funds that are applicable to us, which will enable us to provide additional equipment, support and activities for the pupils, please complete the form ‘Application for Universal School Meals and Pupil Premium Funding’ and return it to school.
